Free Trademark Monitoring Free
Clearing a name tells you it was free that day. Monitoring tells you when someone files something too close to it — while you can still do something about it.
Most trademark problems are not discovered at filing. They are discovered eighteen months later, when a competitor's near-identical mark has already registered and the cheap remedies have expired. Monitoring exists to close that gap.
Monitoring your first mark is free, with no card and no trial. Paid plans monitor an unlimited number of marks and add bulk screening, reports and firm tools.
Matching that goes beyond exact spelling
New filings are checked against your mark for identical wording, near spellings, sound-alikes, plural and singular forms, foreign-language equivalents, and marks that contain yours with a generic word attached. A mark spelled nothing like yours can still block you.
Opposition windows, while they are still open
Once a conflicting mark publishes for opposition there are 30 days to object. Miss it and the remedy becomes cancellation — slower, harder and far more expensive. Opposition alerts state the days remaining, not just that something was published.
Renewal and maintenance deadlines
Add your serial number and we track the Section 8 declaration window and the ten-year renewal cycles, with reminders at six months, three months, one month and one week. Missing one cancels the registration outright.
Who you would actually be dealing with
Alerts carry the other owner's enforcement history from the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. A conflict owned by a party that has filed fifteen oppositions is a different proposition from one that has never filed any.
Marks acquired, not just filed
Watching a company covers marks it acquires as well as marks it files. A competitor buying a portfolio out of a liquidation gains rights immediately, with no application anyone could have noticed.

Common questions
Is trademark monitoring really free?
Yes. The free plan monitors one mark at no cost, with no card required. Every paid plan monitors an unlimited number of marks.
How often are new filings checked?
The index is refreshed daily from USPTO bulk data, and watches are swept against newly indexed filings.
Will it catch marks that are spelled differently?
Yes. Matching covers near spellings, phonetic equivalents, plurals, translations and marks that contain yours alongside a generic word.
Is this a substitute for a professional watch service?
No. It covers US federal filings as indexed from USPTO data. Full watch services also cover common law use, foreign registers and domain and marketplace activity.
